Quickly approaching is the second anniversary of the passing of Richard “Duffy” Nottestad who lost his life to cancer on February 15th, 2007. As time passes, family and friends continue to celebrate the life of this wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, coach, teacher, and friend. Duffy memories and stories are exchanged fondly with a smile and a chuckle on a daily basis.
The Richard “Duffy” Nottestad Memorial Fund has been created by his family as a simple way of keeping his kind and giving spirit alive. Contributions will be distributed in the form of scholarships, cancer charity and research organizations, and local non-profit events.
The Nottestad family needs your support to make the 2nd annual fundraiser as successful as the first. Duffy’s boys were so gratified by last years success that they feel another ice fishing derby is the most appropriate way to honor their fishing fanatic father. The fishing derby fundraiser is scheduled for February 21st, 2009, 8am – 3pm, in front of the Riviera Beach on Lake Geneva. Tax deductible donations for a silent auction, raffles and hourly prizes for the largest fish caught are needed. If the ice is not safe for fishing, the fundraiser will be moved to Library Park where the silent auction and raffles will take place.
